The show must go… online

Oh, the internet, you’ve done it again. As a theatre lover, I am so excited about a new project that is bringing the heart of the stage to a computer near you.

Full disclosure here, my brother is one of the directors and he also wrote and is starring in a web series that is out TODAY!

The company is called Stage 17, described on its website as:

“A new digital platform

specializing in original and curated

entertainment for the world’s largest

stage – the Internet. What sets Stage17

apart from other platforms of this kind

is our strong association with the

Broadway and theater community – our

goal is to harness the powerful talent of

theatrical artists by giving them an

online stage where they can explore,

create, and expand their craft in a way

that makes their gifts accessible to the

whole world!”

The episodes are visually shot like a television show but have the charm of Broadway. In the Ian Series, guest stars include:

  • Krysta Rodriguez (NBC’s Smash and First Date)
  • Jake Epstein (Beautiful and Degrassi: The Next Generation)
  • Courtney Wolfson (Kinky Boots and Legally Blonde)
  • Katie McClellan (NBC’s Believe)
  • Sarah Schenkkan (Wicked, 30 Rock)
  • Ariana Shore (The Performers)

Ian is about a 25 year old virgin. Neurotic, big-hearted, and painfully shy, Ian’s outrageous fantasies belie his otherwise unremarkable life. Ian hopes to meet the girl of his cinematic dreams, whether she’s the doll in a Film Noir movie, or a Western’s damsel in distress who’s willing to dive deep into his imagination and come back to reality holding his hand.

The channel is free and I’m loving this idea of bringing big Broadway stars into my little office.

Take me away, I say!  Check it out now!
